about
From Ithaca, NY,
ARTIST, JOE CROOKSTON printed out the lyrics to that VERY OVERPLAYED WAGON song by Ketch & the Boys.
(You know the one!) Everyone is sick of it!
It's a great song...BUT....
Joe took his scissors and cut up the printed words & lyrics into little rectagles and scrambbled them in a pile. Like poetry magnets. He rearranged the words into a brand new order and then glued the pieces down onto a board into a brand new order.
The rule was... ONLY THE WORDS IN THE ORIGINAL SONG COULD BE USED. NO OTHER WORDS ALLOWED. Joe went to the studio, played piano, added some harmony vocals, lap steel and..........
HERE IT IS FOLKS!!!...The UPDATED, CUT & PASTE version of that Old Crow song that has been banned from every festival in North America! It's new again. A gift to America! Take a listen. Will you share it? Learn the new version. No need to bitch & complain any more! You're welcome!
Joe said...."I've always wanted to contribute something meaningful to society...I think I finally found a way to do it! A new updated verson of this Wheel song is just the thing we need to bring America together again!...Thank you all for listening & sharing.

lyrics
Caroline The Cumberland Fiddler Back on the Wagon
I can feel the north country wind out in the pines
I see the cold New England coast in the rain
Gotta Keep heading South headlights back to my baby
I’m Cumberland bound, getting back to my Caroline
I made a flower bouquet I took a toke on the train
Now I'm thumbing and a-hopin' that she’s turning my way
And I ain't at the wheel, but I feel like I’m living to die
I’m Cumberland bound, getting back to my Caroline
I’m back on the wagon she’s calling and I’m getting old
And Momma will you pray for me
I ain’t seventeen no more and the road life she’s getting me down
I’m Cumberland bound, getting back to my Caroline
From Roanoke to Ralaigh, Philly town to Tennessee
I made money on guitar l move on and I leave
I caught a rock band in the city playing Hey Hey My My
A trucker on the banjo he’s picking a string
I lost my way staring west at the sun
I was born in the land of the free now she’s the only one.
I’m Cumberland bound, getting back to my Caroline
